Hygiene and Disease Prevention in Hydroponic
 

Diseased foliage should be promptly cut from plants and removed from the growing area along with other waste material. Surfaces must be kept clean from dust, dirt and spillages. Other worthwhile precautions include minimizing personnel traffic in the area, no smoking, and filtering the air supply to the area (Fig 11.2).

Optimizing design of the growing area will make it easier to maintain hygienic growing conditions.
